2017 Standings Update – 3 of 6 Races Complete!

Three of the six Trail Mix Series races are complete for 2017. Three more remain – including the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack this Sunday 9/24.

The updated 2017 Trail Mix Standings are online now (Women’s | Men’s) Each column is sortable and the categories and runner names are searchable.

Remaining races in the 2017 Trail Mix Series are:

These races are ALL open for registration – sign up now using the links above.
Nearly 1,700 runners — 605 different women and 1,087 different men have participated in at least one of the first three Trail Mix Series events so far in 2017!

DSC_0469-1This is our 4th Trail Mix series and we’re hoping to bring it to as many runners as possible!

If you ran in either the Leatherman’s Loop, A Mild Sprain, or Where the Pavement Ends then you are listed in the Trail Mix 2017 standings. If you did not run one of these 3 races unfortunately you can’t complete the Trail Mix Series for 2017 — but you can still register for the remaining races!

The benefits are multiple — even if you aren’t in the running to take your age category or the series: You get to hang out and race with some super (and modest) people. You get to visit and explore beautiful locations around Westchester and Fairfield Counties. And through trail racing you can connect back to nature in a way that road racing can’t match.

And if those reasons weren’t enough, there’s one more bonus: If you complete the series in 2017, you will get an automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery in January 2018 for the April 2018 Loop.

If you see a problem in the results or standings, please let us know ASAP. The most common problems are name differences between races (e.g. Liz and Elizabeth, Jim and James, etc.) Considering nearly 1,700 different runners are being tracked at this point it is not possible for us to automatically match names in the standings database with these minor differences (we need to fix them by hand). It will help immensely if you pick a “race name” and stick to it for the series races when you register. Your race series volunteers appreciate the help! 😉 If you have already registered using a different name, we can change it if you let us know.

Come on out – We’d love to see you on the trails and in the Mix!

The Sarah Bishop Bushwhack is in September.

The Sarah Bishop Bushwhack is in September.

The fourth race of the 2017 Trail Mix Trail Series is getting ready to go on September 24th, 2017.

The Sarah Bishop Bushwhack is a 10k race held at Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, NY. This year marks the 5th year of the race. Race directors Lee Willett, Barry Fagan, and Mark Vincent are gearing up for the big day.

The Sarah Bishop Bushwhack is a unique and challenging trail race. Easily drivable from New York City, the course traverses through the park’s 1000 acres of scenic woodlands, beautiful vistas, and around the lakes that give the park its name.

Its 6+ miles of hilly terrain will challenge new and veteran trail runners alike. For those looking for a more modest challenge, Sarah’s Scramble, a 1.5 mile run/walk is available as well.

Come to Mountain Lakes Park and Run — We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

run-the-farm_veggies-cp-small-150-webclipThe fifth race in the series is called Run The Farm and will be held on 10/22/17 at Muscoot Farm in Katonah/Somers NY. More information on that race closer to the date.

Where The Pavement Ends – Trail Mix Race #3 – 9/17/17

Hello Trail Mix Runners!

The third race of the 2017 Trail Mix Trail Series is set to go on September 17th, 2017!
Where The Pavement Ends is held at Lake Windwing in Ridgefield CT. This year marks the 5th year of the race at the Ridgefield location. Race director Geoffrey Morris is getting ready for a big crowd.

Where the Pavement Ends is a fun and challenging trail race: fun for the everyday runner who can experience the beauty of these wonderful trails — and challenging for the competitive trail runner who can match up against the best racers in the northeast.

It’s 4-plus miles of sometimes narrow and hilly terrain. All of the muscles that never get any work from all of that road running will definitely be used on this course.  It is a great mix of fire road, single track, flats, hills, and one fast downhill section right towards the end.

Come to Lake Windwing and Run! We’re looking forward to seeing you there! Register here.

….David, Brant, Lee, Barry, Mark, Geoffrey, Rob, and Tony (the Trail Mix race directors)

PS: The fourth race in the Trail Mix series is called the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack and will be held on 9/24/17 at Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, NY. More information on that race in an upcoming email – or click on the link above.

A Note About Leatherman’s Loop 2017 Entry for Trail Mix 2016 Finishers

You are guaranteed selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery for 2017 ONLY IF YOU ENTER THE LOOP LOTTERY AND if you finished at least 4 of 6 races in the 2016 Trail Mix Series.

You have to register for the Loop Lottery so we know how many spots are available to the other regular entrants in the Loop Lottery. You are guaranteed to get picked for a spot in the Loop Lottery if you are a Trail Mix series finisher — but we won’t enter your name into the Loop Lottery automatically.

Thanks for understanding and making our jobs easier 😉

UPDATE: If you are a Trail Mix 2016 finisher and you are reading this after the lottery has closed and you would like a late entry into the 2017 Loop due to a misunderstanding AND you are on the list of finishers at the bottom of this Final 2016 Trail Mix post here, please contact us and let us know your request. There are only around 10 runners in this situation so we can accommodate you if you let us know soon. The closer it gets to the Loop, the less flexible we will be with offering help for your situation.
