The 2024 Trail Mix Series is composed of SEVEN trail races in the Westchester/Fairfield area listed and linked below.
This year we are adding two races to the Trail Mix Series: Mudders & Grunters (March 24) and Spring Run the Farm (May 19). These two races are coming up SOON!
Links for information and registration are listed below with the other series races. Both races are in the spring and are open for signup now.
A Mild Sprain is taking a hiatus this spring — we hope they will return soon!
Series Scoring will be done via a points system with a runner’s best 4 of 7 races counted towards the final standings. Runners who complete 5 or 6 or 7 races will get to drop their lowest race(s) and that will improve their series score.
ALL races in the 2023 Trail Mix Series are compete!

Mr Trail Mix Retires
Charles Vaccaro, who had run in EVERY SINGLE TRAIL MIX RACE through 2019(!) — all thirty-THREE races in that span — has moved out of the area. He’s the only one with that streak from 2014-2019. He will always be “Mr Trail Mix” in our world! (Note: Charlie did run in the 2022 Loop so his Trail Mix Streak is really 34 consecutive trail mix races! And he will be making appearances from time to time in the upcoming Trail Mix races.)

Runners who complete the series with at least 4 races in the series get automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery the following year. (Runners who complete the 2022 series are eligible for automatic selection in the 2023 Loop Lottery! (as long as they enter the Loop Lottery!!)

We wanted you to know that there are two races in the Trail Mix Series that are happening this year.
Next up is Where the Pavement Ends from Sept 11-13. The race will be held in a hybrid-virtual format.
That means you run the actual course on your own time, upload proof of your run, and claim your Cake Box cupcake!
For this year’s race, you can run the course between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. from Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 13th
What are you vying for? Every participant will receive a “finisher cupcake” by printing out your bib and presenting it at the Ridgefield Cake Box location (in lieu of shirts this year).
Top 3 overall male and female finishers will get a gift certificate for a box full of cupcakes.
Every finisher that uploads a time to be verified will be eligible for a Ridgefield Running Company gift card!
PS: The Raven Rocks Run is currently still planned for November with a similar hybrid-virtual model as described above — but with several twists and additions. We think you will like them. More details to follow.

Runners can compete in the series by completing at least 4 of the 7 races. The best four count towards the point totals for the series. If runners complete five, six, or seven of the series races they can drop their lowest race(s) — only counting best 4 races.

On Sunday, November 10 at 9am, the Raven Rocks Run at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY will cap off the 2019 Trail Mix Series. We hope you are signed up – it will be a challenging race!
You also might be interested to hear that the Fire Tower is coming back to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. It was dismantled in 1982 without permission from the county and many people have been working to get it restored. We are looking forward to being able to climb it again and take in the vistas it will provide.
After the Raven Rocks Run is complete, we will update the final standings for the Trail Mix Trail Series after that race.
