Men’s 2023 Final Standings

There are 33 men who qualified for final scoring in the Trail Mix Series.

Eamonn Sullivan captured the 2023 Trail Mix overall title and ran in every race in the 2023 Trail Mix Series.

Eamonn won A Mild Sprain, Where the Pavement Ends, Run the Farm, and Raven Rocks. He also had a sixth place finish at Paine to Pain and a second place finish at Leatherman’s Loop — but since he completed all six trail mix races he was able to drop these two “low” scores and repeat with a 400 point total finish for the Trail Mix. Eamonn is the only runner to achieve this feat (now twice!)

Trail Mix 2020

Trail Runners:

EDIT: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the following races in the series have been cancelled:

We will keep you updated on the remaining races and our plans for a 2021 series.

Note: Information below is out of date due to COVID-19 restrictions. Check above list for active races.

The 2020 Trail Mix Series features SEVEN trail races in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

Date information and links to the websites are below.

ProTip: Subscribe to the SundayRuns.org calendar to get all of these Trail Mix Series races (and other regular Sunday Run group runs) on your mobile calendar.

Runners can compete in the series by completing at least 4 of the 7 races. The best four count towards the point totals for the series. If runners complete five, six, or seven of the series races they can drop their lowest race(s) — only counting best 4 races.

Runners who complete the series get scored and are eligible for age-category recognition. (See the scoring system explanation here.)

Runners who complete the series with at least 4 races of the 7 total get automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery the following year. (Runners who completed the 2019 series are eligible for automatic selection in the 2020 Loop Lottery! (as long as they entered the Loop Lottery!!)

Our best way to let others know about the Trail Mix Series is YOU!

When friends tell their friends about the series from personal experience it is the best way to spread the word. If you know someone who might be interested in running in the series, please forward this note to them.

If you have any questions about the 2020 Trail Mix Series, please let us know via email.

See you on the trails!

Women’s Series Standings to dateMen’s Series Standings to date

SIX races in the 2019 Trail Mix Series are compete! Only one more to go! — Raven Rocks Run.

Women’s 2019 Standings to Date

There are 20 women who are currently eligible for scoring in the Trail Mix Series.

Trail Mix 2019 Current Leader Lindsey Felling

Lindsey Felling is took over first place with a strong showing at Run the Farm. She also has a win at Sarah Bishop and two other top performances at the Leatherman’s Loop and Paine to Pain. Lindsey has four Trail Mix races complete. Christina Thomson (F40 leader, 3 races) and Katie Hulme (FJr leader, 4 races) are ranked #2 and #3. Alix Cotumaccio (F40) and Keely Cheslack-Postava (F40) round out the top 5 with three and four races, respectively.

Claudia Ebert leads in the F30 category with three races. Sydney Bieber (3 races) leads her nearest competition in the F14-18 (FJr) category. Abigail Slocum (3 races) leads in the Kids (13 & under) category. Karen Haitoff leads in the F50 category with three races to date. Karen’s daughter Rita Haitoff (3 races) is the youngest Trail Mix competitor in the field at 9 going on 10.

With only one more race in the series, any runner with three races completed needs to finish Raven Rocks to qualify for final scoring and the automatic selection upon entry into the Loop Lottery 2020.

Of special note — Susan Burke is the only woman to run FIVE of the SIX Trail Mix Series races in 2019. No woman has run all races in 2019, unlike past years where there was always at least one.

Men’s 2019 Standings to Date

There are 78 men who are currently eligible for scoring in the Trail Mix Series.

Eamonn Sullivan leads the 2019 Trail Mix men’s division.

Eamonn Sullivan leads — he won A Mild Sprain, came in as a top 3 finisher at the Loop, and won Run the Farm. Past Trail Mix series winner Luis Francisco vaulted into second overall with five races complete. Kevin Hoyt has run in 4 of the 6 Trail Mix races and is in third place. He has already qualified for an automatic selection in the Loop Lottery this coming January.

Jacob Benesch is next up in fourth overall – and Jacob has again run in all six of the Trail Mix Series races to date. Christopher Irwin has reached fifth place overall with four races complete.

Bill Bradsell (4 races) has won the M50 category each of the last three years and is on track to repeat.

Shane Waring is leading the 13 & under division with Jackson Bieber on his heels. Ed Moore (4 races) has taken over the M60 category with William Hurlin (3 races) and Michael Brown (3 races) just behind.

James “Poppy” McGough leads the M70 category with 5 of the 6 trail mix races completed. Nick Ohnell is on his tail with 4 races complete.

Of special note 5 male runners — Jacob Benesch, Bryan Wujcik, Gerard Mattia, Charles Vaccaro, and Andrew Chasen have all run every Trail Mix Series race to date in 2019.

Mr Trail Mix

“Mr Trail Mix” Charles Vaccaro at Run the Farm 2019

Charles Vaccaro has run in EVERY SINGLE TRAIL MIX RACE EVER! The series was started in 2014 and Charlie has done all thirty-TWO races in that span. He’s the only one with that streak. He is officially “Mr Trail Mix!”

There is ONE more race in the series (Raven Rocks Run) — that means if you have run in at least three races in the series to date you can still finish the 2019 series by running this last race — and get your final score and become eligible for the 2020 Loop Lottery!

Of course you don’t need to run in the series to race in these trail races. They are open to everyone!

The remaining race in the series is:

2017 Standings Update – 4 of 6 Races Complete!

Four of the six Trail Mix Series races are complete for 2017. Two more remain – Run The Farm (10/22) and Raven Rocks Run (11/12).

The updated 2017 Trail Mix Standings are online now (Women’s | Men’s) Each column is sortable and the categories and runner names are searchable.

Remaining races in the 2017 Trail Mix Series are:

These races are open for registration – sign up now using the links above.

178 runners — 50 women and 128 men have participated in at least two of the first four Trail Mix Series events so far in 2017!

With 4 of the 6 races complete, we have a much better picture of the series standings.

Kirby Mosenthal is leading the Women’s 2017 Trail Mix, just a hair ahead of Kelsey Crawford and Andrea MyersChelsea Ellis and last year’s Trail Mix winner Lindsay Obrig are close behind. Teren Block is sixth overall and the only woman to have completed all four 2017 Trail Mix races. There are 50 women with 2 or more races complete in the Trail Mix 2017.

Luis Francisco is leading the Men’s 2017 Trail Mix by just over a tenth of a point. Benjamin Hopkins is right on his tail with last year’s Trail Mix winner Virgil Bretz just behind him. Alexsei Chernov is in fourth and has completed all four Trail Mix races in 2017. David Hambleton is fifth and coming on strong. Newcomer Aaron Baldwin is in the mix at 6th place. There are 128 men with 2 or more races complete in the Trail Mix 2017.

DSC_0469-1This is our 4th Trail Mix series and we’re hoping to bring it to as many runners as possible!

If you ran in at least two of the Trail Mix races: Leatherman’s Loop, A Mild SprainWhere the Pavement Ends, or Sarah Bishop then you are listed in the Trail Mix 2017 standings. If you did not run at least 2 of these 4 races unfortunately you can’t complete the Trail Mix Series for 2017 — but you can still register for the remaining races!

Runners who complete the series in 2017 will get an automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery in January 2018 for the April 2018 Loop. If you are not in the mix for 2017, sign up to get our Trail Mix email updates to remind you of the series races in 2018!

If you see a problem in the results or standings, please let us know ASAP. The most common problems are name differences between races (e.g. Liz and Elizabeth, Jim and James, etc.) Considering nearly 1,700 different runners are being tracked at this point it is not possible for us to automatically match names in the standings database with these minor differences (we need to fix them by hand). It will help immensely if you pick a “race name” and stick to it for the series races when you register. Your race series volunteers appreciate the help! 😉 If you have already registered using a different name, we can change it if you let us know.

Come on out – We’d love to see you on the trails and in the Mix!

2017 Standings Update – 3 of 6 Races Complete!

Three of the six Trail Mix Series races are complete for 2017. Three more remain – including the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack this Sunday 9/24.

The updated 2017 Trail Mix Standings are online now (Women’s | Men’s) Each column is sortable and the categories and runner names are searchable.

Remaining races in the 2017 Trail Mix Series are:

These races are ALL open for registration – sign up now using the links above.
Nearly 1,700 runners — 605 different women and 1,087 different men have participated in at least one of the first three Trail Mix Series events so far in 2017!

DSC_0469-1This is our 4th Trail Mix series and we’re hoping to bring it to as many runners as possible!

If you ran in either the Leatherman’s Loop, A Mild Sprain, or Where the Pavement Ends then you are listed in the Trail Mix 2017 standings. If you did not run one of these 3 races unfortunately you can’t complete the Trail Mix Series for 2017 — but you can still register for the remaining races!

The benefits are multiple — even if you aren’t in the running to take your age category or the series: You get to hang out and race with some super (and modest) people. You get to visit and explore beautiful locations around Westchester and Fairfield Counties. And through trail racing you can connect back to nature in a way that road racing can’t match.

And if those reasons weren’t enough, there’s one more bonus: If you complete the series in 2017, you will get an automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop Lottery in January 2018 for the April 2018 Loop.

The remaining three races in the Trail Mix 2017 are, in chronological order:

All of the Trail Mix series races are on Sunday mornings.

It is too late to join in for 2017 if you haven’t run one of the first three Trail Mix Series races this year — but you can still run in any or ALL of the upcoming races! (In order to qualify for the series standings you must complete at least FOUR of the SIX races in the series.)

One bonus for completing the series is that it makes you eligible for automatic selection in the Leatherman’s Loop 2018 Lottery.

Hope to see you on the trails!
